Deputies: 3 people arrested in Berkeley Co. theft ring

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Detectives with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office made several arrests over the weekend in connection with a theft-ring operating in the low country and recovered several large items that had been reported stolen from several different counties.

A 53’ enclosed trailer, valued at approximately $30,000.00, that was used to haul a dragster and a stolen 1997 Chevrolet C-3500 truck that was used to tow it, was recovered from a location in the Lebanon area of Berkeley County on January 21, 2015, the day after the trailer and its cargo were reported stolen from a residence at 206 Frankie Lane in Ladson.

A $30,000.00 Dragster that was stored in the trailer was not found at this time. The Chevrolet truck had been reported stolen from Fanelli’s Auto Sales on North Main Street in Summerville.

Berkeley County detectives continued their investigation and, with a search warrant, went to a location at 3123 State Rd. Summerville on February 1, 2015 where several other items were found, including the stolen $30,000.00 dragster.

Also located at that address was an enclosed trailer that had been reported stolen from Georgetown County along with a Polaris Ranger four- wheeler reported stolen from Colleton County in the Cottageville area.

Three people have been arrested in this case so far with the total dollar amount of the recovered items being approximately $100,000.00.

Shawn Paul Driggers (35), of 3123 State Rd.Summerville, is charged with 2 counts receiving & possession of stolen goods and one count of receiving & possession of a stolen vehicle.

Andrew Michael Carroll (26), of 603 Longleaf Rd. Summerville, is charged with two counts of receiving & possession of a stolen vehicle, one count of receiving & possession of stolen goods and one count of grand larceny of a motor vehicle.

Sabrina Osburn (30), of 603 Longleaf Rd. Summerville, is charged with misprision of a felony.

This investigation was conducted with assistance of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.

Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Rick Ollic said more arrests are expected in this case as the investigation continues into the scope of this theft operation.
