Via Press Release:

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC) of SC, Lowcountry Chapter, is pleased to endorse Brian Adams for Berkeley County Sheriff.

In order to be vetted for endorsement, the candidate was required to complete a 7-part questionnaire and sign the RLC Liberty Compact committing to:

1. restore liberty, not restrict it;
2. promote the freedom and independence of citizens, not the interference of government in their lives;
3. and observe the limited, enumerated powers of our Constitution, not ignore them.

According to Ray Nash, retired Sheriff of Dorchester County and Chairman of the Lowcountry RLC, “Our Founders instituted an important balance of powers between the federal and state governments. The Office of Sheriff plays a pivotal role in maintaining that balance and ensuring that the liberties of our citizens are protected.”

Sheriff Nash went on to say, “The Board voted unanimously to endorse Mr. Adams based on his understanding of the constitutional authority of the Sheriff and his willingness to make a principled stand when required. I am honored to add my personal endorsement to his candidacy as well.”

The RLC will present the endorsement to Mr. Adams at a special news conference at Vespa Pizzeria, 224 Seven Farms Dr., Daniel Island, SC at 7 p.m. on Thurs., April 30, 2015.

Founded in 1991, the Republican Liberty Caucus works within the GOP to promote limited government, individual liberties, and free enterprise. The Lowcountry Chapter meets at 7 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Mt. Pleasant Water Works on Rifle Range Rd. The public is invited to attend.
