GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–If you’ve traveled along Saint James Avenue in Goose Creek, you’ve probably seen the heavy construction taking place.
For the last several months, work crews have been building the new Walmart Neighborhood Market.
The new grocery story is slated to officially open for business on June 24th at 7:30 a.m.
According to store officials, they plan to employ approximately 95 people at the Goose Creek location.
Less than a mile down the road from the new store is already a Walmart Supercenter; however, it will be a bit different from traditional Walmart stores.
According to Walmart.com, the neighborhood market format offers quick and convenient shopping, with a full grocery department, including organic and natural selections.
Goose Creek Mayor Michael Heitzler has previously described the new store similar to Whole Foods Market.
