ST. STEPHEN, S.C.–A GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for funeral expenses of 22-month-old Caden Burden.

According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, the little boy wandered away from his home Thursday and was later found in a nearby pond.

Arika Greene, the toddler’s mother, told WCBD-TV that she dozed off on the couch Thursday night while her two boys, 3-year-old Cameron and 22-month-old Caden, were watching a movie.

As she slept, the single mom told reporter Mayci McLeod that her two sons wandered off outside. It was her older son who would eventually take her to Caden’s lifeless body.

“Cameron was leading me to where Caden was and it was by the pond. I was like, ‘Oh please, please not the pond.’ I got there and the two push toys was in the water so I was like, ‘Where’s my baby? Where’s my baby?’ And I’m searching,” stated Greene.

Green found her son lying face down in the pond.

The coroner stated that Caden was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
