School Officials: Berkeley County Needs School Bus Drivers

school busBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Berkeley County School District will host its next School Bus Driver Training Class from June 22 to June 25 in the Berkeley County School Boardroom, located at 231 East Main Street in Moncks Corner from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Berkeley County School District bus drivers are district employees and they can earn between $10.64 and $17.49 per hour.

Bus drivers also qualify for health insurance as well as retirement and sick leave. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license with no more than four points on their license.

They must also successfully complete a school bus drivers training course and be certified and licensed by the South Carolina Department of Education.  All applicants will undergo a physical performance test, drug test and background investigation prior to employment.
