Lottery Officials: $200,000 Lotto Ticket Is St. Stephen Woman’s Last

LOTTOBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A St. Stephen woman says she’s bought her last lottery ticket, calling it quits having won $200,000.

“This is my day,” she said of her win. “Unbelievable.”

And she’s sticking to a promise she made herself to stop buying tickets if she ever won big. Her final purchase was a $10 Lucky Red 7’s ticket from the Santee Grocery on Mackey Rd. in Salters. The ticket overcame odds of nearly 1 in 700,000 to win her $200,000. Today, all five top prizes in the game have been claimed.

“I’ve enjoyed playing,” she said, looking forward to spoiling her children, her grandchildren and herself with her winnings.

Hers wasn’t the only $200,000 win with a St. Stephen connection. Last week, a group of three winners split a $200,000 prize won on a Big Money scratch-off sold at the Corner Stop 43 on 3852 Byrnes Dr. in St. Stephen. Three top prizes of $200,000 remain in the Big Money game, at odds of 1 in 600,000.

For selling these claimed tickets, both retailers received commissions of $2,000.
