SUMMERVILLE, S.C.–Summerville Police say they are looking for a man who reportedly attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl walking to her apartment.

According to an incident report,  the attempted abduction occurred at Planters Retreat on Ladson Road.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on May 29th, the teen told officers that she was leaving the apartment complex with a few male friends who were accompanying her to the Speedway Gas Station.

While walking on the sidewalk headed north on Ladson Road, they say they noticed a white work van with a ladder rack parked near the stop sign. The teen told officers she saw a white man also sitting inside the truck.

While later walking back from the Speedway, back into the complex, she saw the white van—the time near the dumpsters in front of the rental office.

The teen says as she started to walk by the van, the driver moved the vehicle closer to her, rolled down his window and stated,

“Hey sexy, I have something for you!

She told officers that she told the man “no” and kept walking near the apartment.

According to the incident report while the girl attempted to walk away, the man exited the van and grabbed at her blouse with his hands.

She told officers that she was able to get away and run toward her apartment. The teen says she began screaming for help after she noticed that the man was chasing her on foot for an indeterminate amount of time before fleeing the area.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5-foot-9, 210 pounds, with a gray mustache, gray hair, round face, with glasses. The victim stated that the suspect also had a raspy voice and his skin was wrinkled with freckles.

The suspect was last seen driving a white work van with windows on every door and a ladder rack. The van had a “G” style logo similar to a Gatorade logo on the left side of a window.
