Greenwood County Coroner Sonny Cox has confirmed that a Moncks Corner man has died in the Upstate.
William Edward Ellisor, 54, reportedly drowned in Lake Greenwood.
According to the coroner, his body was found early Monday morning near Harris Landing.
In a report by GWD Today, Ellisor’s coworkers called to report him missing after he did not show up for work Monday morning.
The coworkers told deputies the group had been at the lake near Harris Landing on Sunday, Long said, and the group went to the sand bar with friends, but the victim remained behind.
The coroner says the drowning appears to be accidental and no foul play is suspected.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
