GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, at 10:36 a.m. on Sunday the Goose Creek Fire Dept. responded to a fire at 113 Amberside Drive.
The coroner says the resident, 63-year-old Betty Brandhorst, was found near the back door of the residence.
Salisbury says she was transported by EMS to Trident Hospital and pronounced dead at 11:19 a.m.
Her death has been ruled accidental and the cause of death is smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Goose Creek Fire Dept. and SLED.
