Rick Ollic Named Moncks Corner’s New Police Chief

MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Mayor Michael Lockliear has announced that Captain Rick Ollic of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has been named the new chief of the Moncks Corner Police Department. Captain Ollic will begin his new duties as Chief of the Department on January 1, 2016.

Captain Ollic is currently the Captain of Special Investigations with the BCSD and is charge of managing cold case homicides and developing strategic plans to uncover key evidence in an effort to promote justice.

He has been with the BCSO for twenty nine years and has served in the capacities of Chief Deputy, Major of the Operations Division, Chief of Investigations, Patrol Deputy Lieutenant, and Patrolman.

Ollic has attended the FBI Academy training for Executive Level Managers in addition to overseeing and managing over 100 homicide investigations. In addition, Captain Ollic has attended many classes covering all aspects of law enforcement.

Mayor Lockliear, in announcing Captain Ollic’s hiring said; “We are fortunate to have Captain Ollic heading our police department. In addition to his training and experience in executive levels of law enforcement, Captain Ollic brings a fresh perspective to the department. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Captain Ollic heading our police force.”

Captain Ollic’s starting salary will be $66,246.
