Public Hearing Scheduled to Discuss Berkeley County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan

county governmentBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Berkeley County Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 11th at the county council meeting to receive public comment – written or oral – regarding an update to the 2015 Berkeley County Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The Berkeley County Hazard Mitigation Plan, originally approved in 2010 by the County, explains the hazard conditions that exist in the County and provides guidance for the community in the mitigation of natural and man-made hazards.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for communities receiving pre-disaster hazard assistance.

The county council meeting begins at 6:30PM and is held in the Assembly Room of the Berkeley County Administration Building, located at 1003 Highway 52 in Moncks Corner.
