BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest Wednesday of Kyle Christian Medeiros, 25, of Summerville, South Carolina on ten charges connected to sexual exploitation of minors.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the state’s ICAC Task Force, made the arrest. The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, also a member of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted in the arrest.
Investigators state that Medeiros had sexual activity with a minor victim.
Medeiros was arrested on January 11, 2016.
He is charged with one (1) count of Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, second degree (§16-3-655), a felony offense punishable by up to twenty (20) years; one (1) count of Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, third degree (§16-3-655), a felony offense punishable by up to fifteen (15) years; four (4) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, first degree, (§16-15-395), a felony offense punishable by up to twenty (20) years imprisonment; and four (4) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, third degree (§16-15-410), a felony offense punishable by up to ten (10) years imprisonment for each count.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
