MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Approximately around 3:18 a.m. on Wednesday, multiple fire departments in Berkeley County were dispatched to 474 East Main Street in Moncks Corner for a commercial structure fire.
Once on the scene crews found the building with flames shooting from the roof.
The building sits next to the new recreational complex in Moncks Corner.
Moncks Corner Rural along with Whitesville Rural assisted the Moncks Corner Fire Department with putting out the fire.
It was not occupied at the time and crews say, fortunately, there were no injuries.
The building had been for sale by the owner, Moncks Corner Rural Fire Chief Scott Lee stated.
It was previously the home to Moncks Corner Finance. According to Weichert Realty, it was for sale for $225,000.
Lee stated that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
