HANAHAN, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, on Monday at 7:25 a.m. his office was notified of a death in the City of Hanahan.
Salisbury stated that Chief Deputy Coroner George Oliver responded to residence on Beverly Drive.
There, Oliver found a 68-year-old female identified as Frances Anderson on the floor of her bedroom.
Salisbury says the body was transported to MUSC for an autopsy.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, Hanahan Police Dept. and SLED crime scene unit are investigating.
Salisbury stated that more information will be released after the autopsy tomorrow.
UPDATE:
The results of the autopsy on Frances Anderson are her death was caused from asphyxiation from manual strangulation. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide by Coroner Salisbury.
Hanahan police officials confirmed Paula Anderson of North Charleston will be charged with the victim’s death–her mother.
