Deputies: Teen Suspect Wanted in Gas Station Armed Robbery Arrested

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Sadiqq Amonee Burgess, 18 years old of Summerville, in connection with an armed robbery at the Pringletown Quick Stop convenience store on Old Gilliard Road in the Ridgeville area of Berkeley County on February 18th.

During the robbery, Chief Deputy Mike Cochran stated that approximately $4,500 in cash and several packs of cigarettes were stolen.

The suspect also discharged a handgun.

On the evening of March 1st, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle that Sadiqq Burgess was in but it did not stop.

A short pursuit ensued in the area of Sandy Run Circle in the Summerville area of Berkeley County. The pursuit ended when the vehicle, driven by Burgess’ younger brother, crashed into a ditch.

The four occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot but were detained shortly thereafter. Burgess was identified as one of the four occupants. He was arrested and transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Burgess has been charged with armed robbery, two counts of attempted murder, four counts of kidnapping and several firearms violations.

In addition, Burgess has been charged with armed robbery in connection with the January 24th armed robbery of a Kangaroo convenience store on Red Bank Road in the Goose Creek area of Berkeley County.
