MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Mayor Michael Lockliear announced Wednesday that Jeffrey Lord, current town administrator for the Town of Westminster, S.C. has been named Moncks Corner Administrator.
Lord will begin his duties on June 13, 2016. He was chosen from 65 candidates.
“I have really enjoyed my time with the City of Westminster and I’m really proud of what we have been able to accomplish during my tenure here, but sometimes an opportunity comes that’s the right decision to move on, both professionally and for my family,” Lord recently told members of Westminster City Council. “Moncks Corner is seeing amazing growth and development and we will be moving closer to family.”
Lord has served as Director of Finance and Administration Finance for the Town of Walterboro for four years before being promoted to City Manager in October of 2008. He also served as City Manager for five and a half years before accepting the position of City Administrator for Westminster, South Carolina in 2014.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Auburn University and his Masters in Public Administration from the College of Charleston.
Lord served in the United States Army in active duty from 1992 to 1994. He has also served in the Alabama Army National Guard.
He and his wife Lisa have two children ages three and six.
