Cane Bay Middle Students Participate in Project Lead the Way Gateway Competition

cbm_vex2016_1600x1027BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Gateway to Technology and VEX Robotics Team students at Cane Bay Middle School attended the Project Lead the Way Gateway competition in Columbia, and placed in the top eight for the Automation and Robotics competition with their King Cobra robot.

A three-person student team competed during the Automation and Robotics competition and another three-person student team competed during the Design and Modeling competition. Both programs are part of the Project Lead the Way Gateway curriculum for middle school students.

The VEX Team includes 7th grade students, Trinity Eaton and Aidan Brown, as well as 6th grade students Brady Fuhriman and Skylar Myers. Students who competed in the Automation and Robotics competition include 6th graders, Brian Bradrick, Joey Chapman, and Connor Shapiro. Students who competed in the Design and Modeling competition include 7th grade students Wil Evans and Jerron Richburg, as well as 8th grade student Damione Sheppard.
