BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to county leaders, there is a prescribed burn of over 700 aces Thursday by U.S. Forest Service just south of Alvin.
Hoodtown Road will be temporarily detoured between Highway 17A and Schurlknight Road from 1 P.M. to approximately 3 P.M.
Additionally, residents in Alvin should anticipate minimal smoke impacts throughout the day and evening.
The public is asked to obey all posted signs in the area of the prescribed burn
