BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–On Sunday, April 3, 2016 at approx. 6:23 a.m. Pine Ridge Fire Dept. was dispatched to a camper trailer on fire at 408 Red Oak Circle, Summerville, in Berkeley County, stated Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.
When they arrived, Salisbury stated that the trailer was fully involved.
A female was able to get out and was transported to Trident and later to the Augusta Burn Unit in Georgia.
She stated that her friend was still inside the trailer.
After the fire was extinguished 51-year-old Terry Alan McClure, of that address was found in the debris.
His body was transported to MUSC where an autopsy will be conducted Tuesday.
SLED fire investigators were called to the scene to assist the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation. More information will be released after the autopsy, Salisbury added.
