BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to authorities, multiple fire departments are battling a large brush fire on Highway 176.
The fire is just west of Cane Bay–about 5 miles west of U.S. 17A.
We’re told a command post has been set up at the Publix on State Road.
Pineridge, Whitesville, Moncks Corner Rural and Lebanon fire departments are currently on scene.
Sgt. Bob Beres with the South Carolina Highway Patrol says that troopers are currently rerouting traffic on US 176 because of the brush fire.
Avoid the area if you can.
