BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, the third escapee, Donald Ray Little Jr., turned himself in to authorities Monday afternoon. He is now in custody.

“We are very glad to have Donald Ray Little Jr. in custody. People can sleep easier tonight knowing that Little is not on the loose any longer,” stated Sheriff Lewis. “I wanted to thank each person in the community who give us information during this search – these tips enabled us to find these suspects more quickly than otherwise would have been possible.”

According to Chief Deputy Mike Cochran, around 8:30 p.m., Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 770 College Park Road in reference to a 911 call from Donald Ray Little Jr. wishing to turn himself in to authorities.

“He was taken into custody without incident and turned over to deputies from Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office,” stated Cochran. “The location he was calling from is believed to be a relative of his.”

The 2015 VW Passat that was listed as possibly being with him was recovered earlier today by another area jurisdiction and is no longer missing.

Brothers Michael Bryan Chaplin and Matthew Daniel Chaplin were both captured Sunday night after authorities learned they were hiding inside a residence on Foxborough Drive in Goose Creek.

On June 24th, the three detainees broke a metal table support bar from a writing table and used the bar to pry out a jail window.  The window is twenty four inches long and nine inches wide, according to authorities.

Dorchester County Sheriff Chief Sam Richardson stated that the three inmates escaped wearing only their tee-shirts and underwear.  They used bed linens to lower themselves to the ground floor.

On Monday, the Chaplin brothers refused to attend a bond hearing on the new charges they now face for breaking out of jail.

The judge still set bond at $100,000 each without them present.

Authorities say the brothers and Little will also face additional charges in Berkeley County.
