BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Two roads in Berkeley County now have lower speed limits, according to Berkeley County government officials.

Due to a strong showing of public input, the advocacy of county officials, and collected data supporting the public’s concerns – the South Carolina Department of Transportation has agreed to lower the speed limits on Lebanon Road and Fish Road.

The speed limit on Lebanon Road has been lowered to 50 mph while the speed limit on Fish Road has been lowered to 45 mph until the road is resurfaced.

At that time, county leaders say the SCDOT may re-evaluate Fish Road to determine the appropriate speed limit on the improved roadway.

“The County thanks the public for their input on this matter and encourages residents to continue to work with county officials to ensure they have a safe environment to live, work and raise a family,” county leaders posted on the Berkeley County Government Facebook Page.
