MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–A Moncks Corner officer’s kind actions towards a homeless woman is starting to tug at a lot of people’s heartstrings all over social media.

According to Nicole Posely Potter, on Saturday she witnessed a Moncks Corner cop go out of his way to help an elderly homeless lady at the McDonald’s on North Highway 52.

The young woman said she watched as the officer made phone calls to help find the elderly woman shelter. He offered her a ride, too.

Right before Potter left the restaurant, she said she witnessed the officer then sit down with her at a booth and begin talking to her.

“I’m sure that attention and kindness meant the world to her,” she stated. “This may not mean much to some, but to me it showed he has a heart and was very caring to take the time to try to make things right for her. I wish people could see that not all police officers are bad!”

The officer who helped the elderly woman in need has been identified as Officer Kevin Hamner.
