Two More Arrests Made In Macedonia Handy Mart Burglary

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis announced that detectives have made two additional arrests related to the July 4th burglary at the Handy Mart located at 2227 North Highway 17 in Macedonia.

Arrested and charged with Grand Larceny $10,000 or more & Burglary 2nd Degree is Jerry Daniel Burr, age 35, from Bonneau. Jimmy Dean Guerry, also of Bonneau and 35 years old, was charged Burglary 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny $10,000 or more, Obtaining Signature or Property under False Pretense $2,000 or less, Receiving Stolen Goods $2,000 or less.

Sheriff Lewis stated, “Being able to solve this burglary and theft is very important to the Macedonia community. The Handy Mart has been a fixture Macedonia area for many years and we just cannot allow them to victimized like this. We are hopeful that those arrested for the burglary and theft will be out of circulation for quite a while.”

Deputies stated that they are very familiar with both Guerry and Burr.

Burr also has a warrant out of North Carolina for unrelated charges.

Deputies also arrested David Hill last week in connection with the Handy Mart burglary. He was taken into custody near the David the Williamsburg County line.

His charges include: Burglary 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny under $10,000..
