BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.—On Sunday, friends and family of 15-year-old Jasmine Lampkin packed the inside of Timberland High School’s auditorium to say a final farewell to a young woman who touched so many lives during her short time on earth.

“Each and every one that was touched by her story, her laugh, her testimony, her presence—she will forever live in us,” stated Tina Gibbs, a friend who attended the service.

“This was one of the hardest services I had ever attended, but it was also one of the most beautiful celebrations of life services I have attended because of all the love that was in the room,” stated Rose Monette.

The teen’s life was cut tragically short over the Labor Day weekend after authorities say she lost control of her ATV and struck a tree. She was airlifted to MUSC and succumbed to her injuries a short time later. She was not wearing a helmet.

“Please make your children wear protective equipment,” stressed Lamont Lampkin, the teen’s father. “I miss her so much, but Jesus is my light.”

Despite his daughter’s death, a part of her still very much lives on today. Because Jasmine was an organ donor, others will continue to live because of her.

Her heart recently saved the life of a 16-year-old girl from Pittsburgh.

Several of her other organs will also help save four other people’s lives. According to her family, her liver will help a young patient in Virginia. Her lungs stayed at MUSC Childrens Hospital to help a patient in the Tricounty area. Her left kidney went to Boston, Massachusetts and her right kidney went to Virginia.

“Jasmine gave five loving kids another opportunity at life. She is my hero,” stated the teen’s father.

Her decision to give the ultimate gift of life has inspired others to do the same.

“In honor of Jasmine Lampkin, a sweet angel, I am now an organ donor,” stated Monette.

“To be so young, she sure was a very smart, beautiful and caring young woman!!!” posted Kim Collins Tackett via social media.
