Deputies: Woman Arrested During Traffic Stop After $40K Worth Of Marijuana Found

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A Moncks Corner woman is behind bars after deputies say she was in possession of more than eight pounds of suspected marijuana.

Maria Andrea Mancha, 42, of Moncks Corner has been charged with possession with intent to distribute (PWID) marijuana.

Detectives with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit assisted Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office K9 with Mancha’s traffic stop Friday evening.

They say the stop and subsequent investigation resulted in her arrest after 9 heat-sealed bags containing 8.8 pounds of suspected marijuana were located.

The suspected marijuana has a street value of approximately $40,320, according to deputies.

Mancha was arrested and transported to the Hill Finklea Detention Center where she was booked and later given a bond hearing where she was granted a $25,000 surety bond.
