Do You Need Assistance Following Hurricane Matthew’s Aftermath?

On Monday, Gov. Nikki Haley stated that The Palmetto State is now in “support mode” following Hurricane Matthew’s devastating aftermath.

As a result of the damage created by the storm, Haley says she has already requested expedited disaster funding from the federal government for 13 counties.

“We will probably add to that,” stated Haley. “Basically what that means is that it will allow for debris clean up and security.”

In Berkeley County, homeowners who need assistance with debris clean-up and mold mitigation are encouraged to call Helping Hands at 1-800-451-1954.

All convenience centers will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with the exception of the convenience center on Ranger Drive (due to downed power lines along Highway 6).

The landfill will be open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Salvation Army’s mobile feeding station started offering hot meals today (Monday) at 1460 Colonel Maham, Pineville, SC 29468.

Berkeley County Government offices will resume regular operations and hours tomorrow – Tuesday, October 11, 2016.

The Berkeley County Citizen Information Line of 843-719-4800 will close today (Monday, October 10th) at 5:00 PM and resume taking calls tomorrow at 8:00 AM.

All shelters in Berkeley County are now closed.
