Berkeley County Announces Final Hurricane Matthew Debris Removal Schedule

MONCKS CORNER, SC – Berkeley County Government announced today that its Hurricane Matthew debris removal contractor will complete its first pass of all county-maintained roadways by noon tomorrow – Wednesday, November 23rd.

While the first pass will be complete, residents can still report locations where Hurricane Matthew debris remain on county-maintained roads to 843-719-2386 through the close of business on Friday, December 2, 2016. Utilizing that data, Berkeley County will make final pickups of the “hot spots” through Sunday, December 11, 2016.

It is important to note again that this schedule is for county-maintained roads only.

Hurricane Matthew yard debris on state-maintained roads in Berkeley County is being removed by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

To inquire about a schedule of debris removal on state-maintained roads in Berkeley County, residents can call SCDOT at 843-761-8481.

The removal of Hurricane Matthew debris on privately-maintained roads in Berkeley County remains the responsibility of the person(s) who maintain the private road.
