Coroner: Help Needed to Identify Pedestrian Killed Near Highway 17A

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office is asking the public for help in identifying a pedestrian killed on Sunday near Highway 17A.

According to Coroner Bill Salisbury, the fatal accident happened on State Road about half a mile from U.S. 17 A in Goose Creek around 7 a.m.

Authorities say a black male was standing in the road when he was hit by a car and then thrown into oncoming traffic.

The victim is described as an African American male wearing black pants and no shirt.

“If anyone has a missing family or friend please contact the coroner in Berkeley County,” stated Salisbury. “Thanks for your help.”
