Deputies Arrest Suspect in Deadly Cane Bay Shooting

Charged with murder

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Berkeley County deputies say they have arrested the man responsible for a deadly shooting in Cane Bay.

On the morning of April 8th, 2018 at approximately 7:20 a.m., deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to 137 Decatur Drive in the Cane Bay reference to a shooting with a victim.

The shooting resulted in the death of Liam Owen Vernon, 35, of Whispering Breeze Drive in Summerville.

Deputies say Vernon was shot three times by Wade David Williams III, 35, of 137 Decatur Drive in Cane Bay.

Subsequent to the investigation, arrest warrants for Williamson were obtained. He’s charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Upon his surrender, he was booked into the Hill Finklea Detention Center pending a bond hearing on Monday.
