BCSO: Man with 16 Warrants Points Airsoft Style AR-15 Rifle at Deputies

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Two men are in jail in connection with a series of car break-ins and thefts in the Pineville-St. Stephen area.

On Thursday, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Denzell Carroll, 27. at his residence on Union Lane in St. Stephen. Carroll had 16 outstanding arrest warrants for vehicle break-ins and financial card transaction fraud stemming from a crime spree in the St. Stephen – Pineville area of Berkeley County.

Carroll was located at the residence and was subsequently found hiding in a bedroom closet under a pile of clothing.

Sheriff’s detectives then obtained a search warrant for the residence and located several stolen items which was reported stolen earlier this week. Carroll also had an Airsoft-style AR-15 rifle positioned on his bed, pointing out the bedroom window, facing where deputies entered.

Denzell’s older brother, Daniel Donte Carroll, 31, was arrested on related charges. Denzell has been making himself unavailable ever since. Danzell was featured as a ‘Most Wanted’ on a local news show recently – this led to several tips of his whereabouts and allowed for his capture.

Denzell was transported to the Hill Finklea Detention Center to await warrant service and a bond hearing.
