Coroner: Husband and Wife Die in Goose Creek Murder-Suicide

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–A husband and wife have died in an apparent murder-suicide, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

On Saturday at around 5 p.m., 911 dispatcher received a call of a domestic disturbance on Samantha Way in Goose Creek.

Berkeley County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to the address and found two people lying in the yard, both with gunshot wounds. They were husband and wife.  Oslen Patton, 44, was pronounced dead on the scene and his wife, 37-year-old Rashad Patton was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Patton’s death has been ruled a suicide and his wife’s death a homicide, Salisbury stated.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation.  This is the 5th homicide in Berkeley County this year and the 15th suicide.
