HANAHAN, S.C.–One person is in custody following a short standoff with Hanahan police on Sedgefield Drive and Stratford Road on Saturday afternoon.
Around 2:45 pm, the Hanahan Police Department received a 911 call from a house on Stratford Road in reference to a domestic disturbance involving an assault.
When the responding officers arrived at the house, police say a man barricaded himself inside a room.
Officers immediately removed a victim to safety and requested assistance from the North Charleston Police Department which included tactical units.
After a brief standoff, police say they were able to negotiate with the barricaded subject to surrender. He was taken into custody without incident.
