BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital workers recently spent time gearing up for this weekโs projected opening with some important last-minute training.
On Thursday, members of the intensive care unitโs nursing staff trained in real-life scenarios with โmock patients.โ
Nursing supervisors say putting a new team of workers together means learning about each other and the various medical situations theyโll soon be handling in a new facility.
The teams focused on drills like stabilizing patients and responding to emergency scenarios.
Healthcare workers have been onsite the past week, learning about the facility and making sure everything is ready for the anticipated Oct. 4 opening. Theyโll be busy training until the opening date.
The new hospital will be the first in Berkeley County in 45 years.
