Coroner: 10-Year-Old Shot to Death in Hanahan

HANAHAN, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office confirms a child has died following a fatal shooting in Hanahan Saturday night.

On October 5th at 10:16 p.m.,  the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office responded to Hanahan for a 10-year-old juvenile that was the victim of a gunshot wound, Coroner George Oliver stated.

An autopsy has been scheduled for October 9. 

Around 10:00 p.m., the Hanahan Police Department received a 911 call regarding a shooting at a residence in the 5800 block of Robinson Street.

When the police officers arrived, a child was found deceased inside of the residence, authorities stated.

This incident is being investigated by the Hanahan Police Department, the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is also assisting in this investigation.
