SCDOT: Old Highway 52 Project Delayed

FILE

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The start of the Old Highway 52 bridge replacement project has been delayed, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The project was expected to begin on October 31 and last five months.

The project consists of replacing the bridge over Mulberry Creek. It will close a portion of the Old Highway 52.

SCDOT officials say the project will still happen, but a new timeline has not been set. They are reportedly working with CSX to develop a plan and timeline for this major project.

In the meantime, motorists can continue to use the entire stretch of Old Highway 52.
