BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – All Berkeley County Library System locations will begin curbside pickup services starting this Wednesday.

BCLS has been closed since March 17 due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to county library officials, public libraries will reopen in phases.

During phase one, while the library is closed to the public, BCLS will offer curbside pickup beginning May 20.

According to BCLS officials, they estimate it will take approximately one week to process hold items. After this time, library customers may place holds via the library’s online catalog https://berk.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/default or call any BCLS location from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Library customers will be contacted via email or telephone with instructions for curbside pickup.

Library book drops are available at all BCLS locations for the return of library materials. No items are due at this time and overdue fines are not being charged.

Account updates may take up to 72 hours due to the quarantine requirements of 24-72 hours before processing, re-shelving, or shipment to another library location.
