CROSS, S.C. – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that has left one person dead Monday.
Just after 6:30 p.m., Berkeley County deputies said they responded to an address on Old Highway 6 in Cross in reference to a fight that escalated to a shooting.
Deputies said they arrived on scene and discovered a victim that was suffering from a gunshot wound. That victim died from their injuries.
According to preliminary investigations, deputies said the altercation started over a card game.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity at this time. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
