Man Accused In Fatal Cross Shooting Arrested

CROSS, S.C. – The Berkeley County Sheriffโ€™s Office has made an arrest in a shooting that left a Cross man dead. Deputies have charged 29-year-old Tashawn Jamel Johnson with murder.

Just after 6:30 p.m. Monday, Berkeley County deputies responded to an address on Old Highway 6 in Cross in reference to a fight that escalated to a shooting.

Deputies said they arrived on scene and discovered a victim that was suffering from a gunshot wound.

That victim succumbed to their injuries.

According to preliminary investigations, the altercation occurred over a card game.

The Berkeley County Coronerโ€™s Office identified the shooting victim as 31-year-old Ronvelle Johnson.

The Berkeley County Sheriffโ€™s Office continues to investigate.
