BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – After a fire recently damaged a popular barbeque restaurant in downtown Moncks Corner, the community is coming together to help make the holidays a little brighter for its workers.

According to Esther Cribb, co-owner of Music Man’s BBQ, the community support has been overwhelming following last weekend’s fire. While she is grateful for the outreach, she told WCBD-TV her main focus remains on helping her employees.

“I worry more about [my employees]. It’s just a bad time of year for this to happen right at Christmas,” Cribb told the TV station.

According to Music Man’s BBQ, an account has been set up at Farmers and Merchants Bank under the name of “Music Man’s BBQ.” All of the money donated will go to the employees of the restaurant, the restaurant owners said.

The bank is located at 221 E Main St. in Moncks Corner.

On Friday night, Dec. 11, as a few employees were closing the restaurant, a fire started in the back kitchen area. The bulk of the fire damage was kept within the kitchen area. However, the lobby area did sustain smoke and water damage, town officials said.
