BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Publix is collaborating with South Carolina health officials to distribute COVID-19 vaccines at Publix pharmacies in Berkeley County and to more than three dozen other locations in the state.
Following South Carolina guidelines, vaccinations will be administered to health care workers, people age 70 and older, residents and staff of long-term care facilities and South Carolina state/local government employees and contractors who are critical to the administration of COVID-19 vaccinations and testing.
“At Publix, the health and safety of our communities is a top priority,†said Publix CEO Todd Jones. “We are grateful for this opportunity to step up and provide this important service during this critical time.â€
Currently, the Publix pharmacy in Berkeley County offering appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine is:
- Publix Super Market at The Market at Cane Bay: 1724 State Rd, Summerville, SC 29486
Vaccinations are provided by appointment only and cannot be made by calling Publix or the Publix Pharmacy. Eligible individuals can make appointments beginning Tuesday, Jan. 19, using the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine, with vaccinations starting Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Vaccinations come no cost to the individual; however, customers with health insurance will need to bring their insurance card to their scheduled appointment. Medicare members should bring their red, white and blue Medicare Part B card. Customers without health insurance will need to provide their driver’s license or Social Security number.
