Dog Dead, Firefighter Injured Following Goose Creek House Fire

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – The Goose Creek Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on Persimmon Circle at approximately 11: 35 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters said they arrived to find a working fire in one-story single family home.

According to the fire department, crews made an interior attack controlling the fire within minutes of arrival.

Firefighters said one dog was rescued from the home while one did not survive.

There was one minor injury to a firefighter on scene. The firefighter was transported by EMS to Trident Hospital and released, the department said.

An investigation revealed the fire started in the kitchen by an undetermined source and is not considered suspicious.
