BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A curious dog recently got a little too curious and found itself in quite the predicament after deciding to go on an “adventure” in the Pimlico community.

According to the Pimlico Rural Volunteer Fire Department, it received a phone call from a resident that a dog was in a canal and stuck in the mud at low tide near Perch Road.

Firefighters said they responded to the location only to find that several residents had beat them to the rescue.

“Our citizens jumped into action and rescued our damsel in distress before we could get there!” the fire department said via social media. “Job well done folks! We do applaud the togetherness of this community!”

The residents got a bit muddy during the rescue, but from the looks of the photo below, they didn’t seem to mind one bit.
