BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A St. Stephen man accused of stealing multiple catalytic converters is behind bars in Orangeburg County.

Quentin Mazyck, 31, has been charged with transportation of stolen non-ferrous metals, injury of real property, possession of tools capable of being used in a crime and petit larceny.

According Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, the thefts took place approximately eight months ago at Sunshine Recycling, which is at 1105 Southland Rd. SW in Orangeburg.

โ€œWe developed information early in this case as to who may have been involved,โ€ the sheriff said. โ€œIt was just a matter of catching up with them.โ€

The sheriff said Mazyck turned himself in on Friday, making him the third and final suspect in the theft from a local business.

Deputies said two others were arrested earlier this summer in connection with the December 2020 theft of catalytic converters.
