BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust recently announced that tickets are now on sale for the Berkeley Battlefields Tour.

“Join us as we explore the Patriots victories and defeats on Berkeley County battlefields,” LBCT said on its official Facebook page.

Interested guests have two tour dates to choose from: Friday, Oct. 1 or Friday, Oct. 29. Tickets are priced $60 per person. The tour starts at 8:30 a.m. and wraps up at 3 p.m.

The tour will start at Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust, which is located at 136 E. Railroad Avenue in Moncks Corner. Cars will caravan to each location. Breakfast and lunch are included.

Berkeley County is famous for its Revolutionary War connections, not only serving as the setting for 32 of the war’s over 200 battle sites in South Carolina, but also two prominent military leaders: General Francis Marion and General William Moultrie.

Notorious for his “Swamp Fox” nickname, Marion and his militia were known for hiding in area swamps and launching bloody, surprise attacks on the British Redcoats.
