Berkeley County Library System Offering Free Take-Home COVID-19 Test Kits

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) is offering FREE COVID-19 Rapid (Antigen) or Saliva (PCR) Test Kits* provided by S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC). 

Interested participants may contact a Berkeley County Library, including the mobile library, during operating hours to pick up a test kit.

“Berkeley County Library System is excited to collaborate with SCDHEC to provide Take-Home COVID-19 Rapid (Antigen) or Saliva (PCR) Test Kits to library customers. The ability for the library to provide accessible and convenient health literacy is a powerful resource for many in the community,” said Gene Brunson, MLIS, Library Director.

This Wednesday, the Berkeley County Library System will also distribute free Take-Home COVID-19 Rapid (Antigen) or Saliva (PCR) Test Kits from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  The event will take place at the Alvin Recreation Center located at 2191 Santee River Rd in St. Stephen.  Library customers are invited to attend.

*Note: COVID-19 Rapid (Antigen) or Saliva (PCR) Test Kits are subject to availability.
