Hurricane Ian: Tropical Storm Winds, Heavy Rainfall Possible For Berkeley County

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County’s emergency management team said it is closely watching Hurricane Ian as it churns toward Florida. The majority of South Carolina remains in the “error cone,” as of Monday.

“Our biggest possible threats from this storm are expected to be heavy rainfall and tropical storm force winds,” county officials posted to Facebook.

According to the National Weather Service, rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are likely late Thursday night through Saturday. Locally heavy rainfall could result in flooding, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
