BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Clemson Extension Service is offering food preservation workshops around the Lowcountry. Contact your local Clemson Extension Office or Gayle Williford at [email protected] or 843-719-4140 for more information. These classes are suitable for persons new to canning and those who want to brush up their skills to prepare safe home-canned foods.

Current, research-based techniques and equipment will be used to provide participants with a hands-on canning experience. Some of the techniques used in the past may be outdated. Participants will learn to use water bath or steam canners and pressure canners during the class.

The Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to people of all ages, regardless of race, color, gender, religion, national origin, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital or family status and is an equal opportunity employer.
