MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – One of the largest fitness club franchises in the United States has plans to open its first Moncks Corner location. According to a company spokesperson, Planet Fitness aims to be up and running before the end of the year.

“What I can tell you is we are aiming to open the club in late summer,” Patrick Lloyd, a spokesperson for Planet Fitness, told “The Berkeley Observer.”

Construction on the new gym, which is located next to Pointe North Church at 110 Bilo Dr. in Moncks Corner, is currently underway. A large dumpster, several wide pieces of wood and a square opening in the building could be seen from the parking lot over the weekend.
