Bonneau Man Charged In Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Moncks Corner

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning following a collision with a vehicle in Moncks Corner. A Bonneau man is now facing charges.

According to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, the crash happened near 2203 Highway 52. The coroner’s office was notified at 11:32 a.m.

Coroner Darnell Hartwell said the victim, Robert C. Ingraham, 59, of Ladson was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

Moncks Corner police said Ingraham was riding north on Hwy. 52 towards town when another vehicle attempted to change lanes striking the motorcycle and forcing it off the roadway.

MAIT investigators closed both lanes of Hwy. 52 at Oakley Road and Red Leaf Boulevard while they completed their investigation.

He is currently being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.

Police said Hood had a bond hearing Thursday morning, but it was denied.

The crash remains under investigation.
